Introducing Firefly Neo: optical microlithography developed in Colombia
CI Photonics introduces Firefly Neo, a compact system for creating security holograms and optically variable devices, with a layer-based design workflow and browser-based exposure control.
A platform for designing and producing holographic elements
Firefly Neo is an optical microlithography mastering system developed and manufactured in Colombia by Colombian Imaging Technologies. Its compact format serves security hologram development, research and small-format holographic production.
The platform combines precision XY positioning with an optoelectronic autofocus system. Its effect library supports microtext, floating images, kinetic effects, Fresnel lenses, color and depth effects, and 2D and 3D stereograms.
In a layer-based workflow, designers assign holographic effects to individual images and combine visual and security features within one multi-resolution project. The completed project is saved as a .holo file for upload to the machine.
From a .holo file to exposure, through a browser
The web-based Project Manager lets operators arrange projects in a shared queue, set position, plate and quality, preview the printable area and follow exposure status. Printing only requires a browser on the included tablet or a computer on the laboratory network.
